Wat Phra Dhammakaya Sydney

Background

The venerable monk, Luang Phaw Dhammajayo, the abbot of the main Dhammakaya temple in Thailand, wishes to spread Buddhism and dhammakaya knowledge worldwide in order to create true peace for all mankind. In order to make his wish come true, A group of volunteers and kayanamitra have come to Australia to study and work. Everyone gathered together with the venerable monk, Phra Palad Sutham Sudhammo, and formed a group. He named this group, Prasarn Boon Prasanjai “.

He introduced dhamma, the Buddha’s teachings, and middle way meditation techniques by using the recording of Luang paw Dhammajayo’s voice to the lay community and locals.

At the end of 1997, the temple was registered as a legal entity under the Australian Non-Profit Organization Act, called Dhammakaya International Society of Australia. Since then, the group of Kalayanamitra has requested for monks to be resided permanently at the temple. The contract was signed and settled on December 24th, 2002
